What does cleanup do?

Cleanup identifies opportunities for you to reclaim SOL from various Solana processes, such as reducing storage, closing unused accounts, and so on. The operations on this tab are safe to perform and will never burn / destroy your NFTs or tokens.

Is cleanup safe?

Cleanup is 100% safe to use. It does not burn any items. Closing token accounts is a reversible operation, and resizing NFTs is sanctioned by Metaplex.

I notice you have a slider bar in pro mode and also an additional safety pop up near the end. Are these infallible?

No, and this is why the most important check is your own manual check while selecting and before approving the transaction. There are multiple opportunities to do this and this should be what you rely on the most. The safety features are meant to help make it harder to make a mistake, but are not perfect as they are pulling data from third party sources, which may fail, or the asset may be too new or obscure to have accurate data on it.

What are Vacant Accounts?

When purchasing tokens, NFTs, or other assets, you need to create an account for the item to live in. Once this NFT or token has been sold, transferred, and so on, this storage is left unused, and can be reclaimed. This does not burn any of your assets, and is a reversible process. It will not invalidate any airdrops.

What does Resize NFTs mean?

Metaplex, the company that created most NFT standards, discovered a way to reduce the amount of on chain storage required for an NFT. By resizing your NFTs, you can reclaim a small amount of SOL. This process is safe, it does not burn your NFT. You can read more info on this process by the Metaplex Developers below

How to Use Cleanup

Closing Vacant Accounts

1. Connect your wallet

See Connecting Your Wallet to get connected.

2. Select Vacant Accounts

If your wallet has any vacant accounts you will see something as highlighted above. Next, click on the vacant account logo. You will see the following below when you click on it.

3. Cleanup Accounts

Now, click the "CLEANUP" button highlighted on the right side of the screen.

Don't forget, if you're using a ledger to click the ledger toggle. Also, if you wish to swap for a different currency instead of SOL you can do that at this point as well.

4. Confirm your transaction

When you click "CLEANUP" you will be shown the screen below. If you're ready, click "CONFIRM" to close the vacant accounts and receive your funds. Once you do, please follow the wallet prompts to sign and send the transaction.
